Microsoft Gets F1 ECU Contract

Flying kittens!Microsoft have been granted the exclusive contract to be the sole supplier of ECUs for all Formula 1 teams from 2008 to 2010.

The move to a single standardized ECUs (Electronic Control Units, responsible for a car’s engine management) is part of the FIA’s radical cost-saving package announced earlier this year for introduction in ’08.

Should be interesting! I guess I could roll out all the old jokes, but you’re thinking ’em anyways so I’ll shut up and leave you with the full press release: World Motor Sport Council… and a cute pic to click which is much more interesting!
